Depends on the area you travel in normally and whether there are any significant updates in that area. Whether it's "worth it" or not is highly dependent on a variety of factors.

Drive around your local area and see if your Navi has any road errors, if so then I would upgrade it. Also if you plan on traveling a lot in the near future, then I would also say yes, it is worth the upgrade.

Yes, that's a big jump and is worth it even if you're in a well-mapped area (as I am).

Yes, because the big firmware upgrade with new functionality was in 4.6x

What was involved in the "Big" Firmware upgrade? Can I go directly to 4.92 from 4.56? I ask this b/c I have an Alaska/Hawaii RL and I installed the NAV myself. The guy I bought it off said it was an 06 unit, but I don't know for sure. I know you need two disks for an 05 unit to upgrade.

Also, what are the three buttons to reset the nav unit you press?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

You can go to the Acura Navigation web site and see coverage area updates for your RL MY and geographic location. www.acuranavi.com

There is a lot of useful information in that site (also accessible from MyAcura.com).

This particular link (from the acuranavi.com web site) details the feature upgrades and changes from disc version to disc version (based on the Model & MY)...this is for the 2006 RL => http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/int...e%20051109.pdf
