How did the install go? I heard this is a royal PITA for the RLs.

Just to update. There's nothing wrong with the install. Everything works. However remember the alarm is independent from your touch access on the handles.

Would love a remote start on my car for when the windows are iced over in the mornings. Of course with the automatic controls I doubt the defrost mode would stick from when you shut the car off. How did they deal with bypassing the keyfob? So much for security I guess. I think car security is a joke. If they want something or your car, they are going to get it. I left my car unlocked twice already and no one touched it overnight, because no one wanted to. If they did, the security would not have stopped them I'm sure.

If someone really want your car, they're they'll find a way to take it - even tow it!

The remote starter has a key emulator installed so the box sends the RF signal and allows the car to start. Like any other remote starter, the system will shut off of the gas pedal is depressed without the ignition turned to the on position. Without an ACTUAL key present, even if the car has been started by the remote starter, you CAN'T turn the ignition knob at all. My Viper also has a security system that works with the factory security system and remote starter. If my car has been started by the remote starter and someone breaks my window or open the door and triggers the alarm, the siren (horn) will sound and the car will shit off.
