How is the hands free sound quality?
The incoming sound on mine is fine, but people on the other end tell me it sounds like there is static on the line. It's not enough to block the conversation, it's just annoying.

I have an 815 now but it's going back. I'll be waiting for the Nokia 6255. Most Verizon phones with BT and Vcast don't have trimode anymore. I could personally care less for video on my phone although the EVDO wireless internet (hacked) is pretty sweet. I'd rather have analog to back up the digital network though. Plenty of hills here in the SF Bay Area where there's no digital coverage but analog is available. Connectivity ueber alles! Anyway, the 6255 has BT and is trimode. When I get it I'll let you know how it works.

No, the VZW lady I talked to today who takes care of our business account didn't see one coming in the next two weeks. A Google search didn't net any consistent dates either. People are just guessing I guess

Motorola E815 and RL
Question, I have the v710 phone and the phone book in the phone does not sync to the car. If I get an E815, will my cell phone phone book automatically show up in the car and, therefore, I will be able to dial from the car using my cell phone phone book?

That Nokia 6255 is a sweeeet phone.
Now I am wondering whether to get the Motorola E815
or wait for the Nokia.
Here's my situation....
I own the Verizon Motorola V710.
Yes, it is crippled just lkike the E815.
I just received a notice that a lawsuit was settled and that
owners of the V710 who bought phones including and before
January 2005 are eligable to benefit from the settlement.
In my case, I can get out of the 2-year contract with my V710
(I have another year to go) and get any phone I want from Verizon.
Sooo.....
I am looking for a new phone to pair with my RL.
Not sure if I should go with the Motorola E815 or Nokia 6255.
...and no more 2 year deals with Verizon. They suck! I'd
rather pay them $50 more for the phone and have the option
of getting the latest and greatest phone each year.
As a sidenote...
Verizon has the best service hands down. Problem is, they
offer the sh*ttiest phones compared to other companies and
cripple them to boot.

NJ - the 6255 is a sweet phone.
Depending on your plan with verizon - you can upgrade every year. If you are above the 69.99 plan *I THINK* you are allowed a new phone every year on the new contract rate. I did this for my mom a few months ago - she was actually on the 39.99 plan but a month before I upgraded her to the 70 plan (added myself to the plan since I was getting away from shitty cingular) and upgraded her to the e815.

Okay...
Which has better caller ID display on the RL Dash?
With my Motorola V710 all I got was (I think)
an incoming phone number display. No name
nor even a strength inidicator for my antenna.
Does the E815 and the 6255 promote advanced
caller ID display for the RL. Any one better than
the other?
Thanks guys!

NJ - The v710 has a software update will will display the signal strength and battery life. None of the phones display a name in the MID - it is not a feature of the HFL.
The e815 displays the singal strength and the batt life. The 6255 is unknown as of now.

Noise for listener when calling with bluetooth
I have paired up my new E815 Moto with my RL and everything went very smooth.
BUT, I to got complaints from people I called, they said I sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. What I discovered was that after I closed the center air vents off, the compaints stopped. Seems the air vents blow into the mic that is located in the overhead console and causes the problem.
Kind of bad in the summer when it is hot outside and you need to make a call!

I didn't get my E815 yet but I plan to soon (unless something better comes along in the next few weeks). I'd like to know whether I will be able to use the E815 & HFL in my 2005 RL to easily call/access my business voice mail system.
To access the voice mail I call a phone number and when it answers I send a 10 digit password. Using my current phone (Nokia 3589i) I stored the phone number followed by a Pause followed by the password all in a 1-touch memory position on the phone. I press the 1-touch button to call the number. When it answers I press the send button and it sends the password. Works well.
My question is: will I be able to do the same with the E815 through HFL? How will I tell HFL to send the password after the voice mail system answers? Does HFL know how to deal with a Pause in the phone number string?

Peter - When you add the voicemail to your HFL address book - you can enter pauses. So for example you could save the phone number as 123-123-1234 P (pause) 0987654321 for the password. I am not sure how many digits the HFL can store in one entry - so you would have to try that or wait for somebody else to answer.

Peter - It waits a certain amount of time. I am not sure the exact length of time. I know you can enter multiple Pauses to make the time longer. I don't have anything I can dial into to that is similar to your voicemail to check if it would work with your system (I have the e815). Sorry - can't help much

I temp. retract my my statement about the pauses. I just read a thread in the TL forum (the TL has the same HFL) and somebody said that it does not support pauses. I am waiting for somebody to confirm over there.
