So im just putting this out there for some members who would like a better sound system in their RL.

JBL MS-8 Processor
Alpine MRP-F450 for Components and Rear Doors
Almpine MRP-M850 for Sub
Image Dynamics IDQ 12V4 2ohm DVC in a 1.8 Cu Ft sealed box
Image Dynamics IDQ 65 Components Front door
Image Dynamics CTX 65 Full Range Rear Door
Image Dynamics CTX 4 Rear Deck and Center Channel

Currently running all the speakers minus the sub off of the factory amp and i have to say it is a HUGE improvement. Distortion is pretty does not exist. Sound is so clear and crisp. i have all the wires ran to hook up the JBL MS-8 and im looking forward to doing that through the week and get it all dialed in by the weekend.

Only reason i posted this is that people were saying it was a waste of money to install new speakers on the factory amp and i will say that is a complete line of BS. My friends were shocked when they heard the setup. The only downfall to installing a 4 ohm speaker to the factory amp is the volume does increase slightly. I normally listen at 15-18 depending on songs, Now i am listening at 18-22 for songs. No pictures of the install yet not doing anything super fancy.

 

I don't see the volume difference as a downfall. As long as the amp volume can go high enough, you are only going to increase performance with a lighter load.

 

How much did that whole setup cost you, roughly? I would love to upgrade my system sometime in the near future.

 

i got a deal on all the Image dynamics stuff. local shop was going out of business so i snatched up what i could. roughly $1200 ish total i spent on everything.
