siriumxm traffic bug

everything is working about the navtraffic except that color coded traffic flow.

I went to the dealer and they said you have to call SIRIUSXM and have them send the signal again..

I tried that but still not working...

any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any feedback

when you say everything is working except color coding, what is working the incidents?
On your zoom scale when you zoom, does it show the the zoom range covered by traffic flow? If you are zoomed in too far, the flow will not show

yes, the traffic incidents and construction alerts are working...just no color coded flow

yes, I know you need to keep the zoom between the "traffic" on the nav screen and still no dice

Is your area covered by traffic flow?
I'd try the reset through XM again

This question is a bit silly but I will still ask.
When they send out the signal how will I know if it worked? Do I simply have to wait until there is a traffic jam to see if it's working or is there another way to tell?

the traffic flow show all the time regardless of jam. It will show (this isn't exact wording from their legend, but you get the idea):
green = no problems, at speed limit
yellow = bsome delays, elow speed limit
red = stop and go

The flow should start to display within minutes of turnign your NAv on.

this traffic flow will be on highways. Only some surface streets are now starting to get some flow.

I checked and I may not live in an area with the traffic flow coverage as I'm in the central NJ area.

I guess if I plan a mock route across the country then maybe I'll see if everything is operational.

so when it's working it will show flow even if I don't have a route planned?

And if i'm not in a region with flow will it automatically start working when I'm driving in a region with the traffic flow capability?

It's all around me in the Trenton, NJ and Northern NJ/NYC, LI area

Yes, it will show even without route planned. It shows traffic in both directions with the flow on either side of the road line. If you have a route planned, on hte route, it color codes your route in the direction you are going eliminating the flow for the opposite direction for your route. However, bi-drectional flow will show on all other roads outside of your route.

The flow will show in a limited range of your location - can't remember what the range is, but its fairly large (guessing at least 100 miles). However, if you live in NJ, you cannot zoom into Chicago and see what traffic is.

Try this;
https://care.siriusxm.com/retailrefresh_view.action

If you just reactivated your service or added NavTraffic, it will take a little while to kick in. You might try getting someone on the phone to see if they can speed things up, but the website usually takes 15 - 30 mins to get things rolling. Hope you get it working.

one more thing - you need to have traffic icon turned on. If you are seeing the trafflic range on the zoom scale, then you do have it turned on
to turn it on, you press enter on the center knob and select icons on map. Traffic should be first one on left

everything looks kosher now as I see a green outline of the red route 95 route...the green outline disappears if I turn off the TRAFFIC ICON or adjust the zoom too close or too far so i'm good to go...
