RL Navigation DVD Drive

Hi,
I just recently purchased 09 RL without the Navigation. Initially, my impression that I just need to buy the Navigation DVD and can be able to upgrade the GPS to Navigation (Map). I found out later from the dealership that the DVD drive in my car (39540-SJA-A82RM) which is no map version. The part number for the full (with map) version is 39546-SJA-A82. I got stuck with the DVD version 4.A2 which is the most updated one. The tech at the dealer indicates that I should even try to put the DVD into the drive which will mess up the whole drive. I check on Ebay and found an 06 drive which the seller claims would fit 09. Can anyone tell me this is true? Also, the seller is rated at 99.2% satisfies (LKQ on Ebay). Anyone deal with this seller and have any feedback? Anyone knows where to find some kind of cross-references which model works on others?
Your help is really appreciated.

If I understand correctly, the video harness for the MMC ('09+) is different than the '05-'08. Putting the CD in your drive will not harm it. However, it will not help you either. The base unit is used for the compass and does not have the necessary hardware to run the nav maps.

Here is a thread from someone who successfully converted a base to a nav by simply replacing the trunk drive. However, this was on an '07. I believe if the harness is the same, you will have no issue with a 2006 drive. Check the pin count on the harnesses.
