Removing trunk carpet to access XM unit in 06 RL

I'm installing the PA15ACUXL in my 06 RL. The forums I've searched are very helpful but I have not found any specific thread or pixs relating to the removal of the carpet to access the XM unit in the trunk. I want to avoid damaging the trunk carpet. Thanks.

Go to the Main Forum > Sticky: GARAGE > SERVICE MANUAL link > PAGE 3 > INTERIOR TRIM.pdf > PAGE 29

It does not specifically speak to the carpet liner, but it does detail the trunk trim pieces and the access to the NAVI Drive covers.

Also look in the 2G RL Garage

Look for accessory installation links, there is one for 05-08 and one for 09-10
The cargo net requires removal of the carpeting on the side of the trunk and there are detailed instructions there.

I just installed mine this morning. You will not damage the carpet at all, just pop it out, and use caution with the cargo hook. I tried to pull it out as I did the other buttons, but the cargo hook is different. Just use a screw driver to loosen it, then it comes off easily. it took me about 5 minutes to remove the carpet, and 4 minutes of that was trying to figure out the cargo hook. My only problem / complain, I did an alright job of hiding the wire, and the ipod menu is a bit annoying to navigate through. It is a lot easier to disconnect the ipod, choose your song, album, or play list, then plug it back in.
