Radio/stereo volume

My wife and I have both noticed how at times the volume on the stereo will decrease on its own when coming to a stop. I had not idea the RL had this feature or is mine a fluke? I do have the ANC activated.

Nope. It's in the audio set-up menu. (I think)

Yes . The radio is setup for noise that when the noise gets louder the volume goes up. There is adjustment for this check your manual

No offense but read the owners manual two or three times.
There is so much in this car you have to really go after the info.

I met a Lady with a new Rl and did not like the car, well as it turns out she knew almost nothing about it, she hated that it did not have Blue Tooth for her phone. She almost faited when I told her it had ity an so much more. Now she is going back to the dealer to learn, I am sure she will NOT read the manual.

How about you actually give him the info instead of saying RTFM?

Are you referring to the Bose AudioPilot function? To be honest the manual isn't all that clear about what it does. It says that it "monitors sound within the cabin and helps compensate for unwanted ambient noise with no perceived change in audio volume." That sounds more like a noise cancellation function to me than auto-volume increasing in response to higher noise levels. And I realize that this isn't the ANC function. The manual just isn't all that clear about what this function is supposed to do. I have it set to "on" and it doesn't seem to do what you imply that it does. I'm always raising the volume level to compensate for outside noise. Is there another function you're referring to?

I just called Acura Customer Service for you, AudioPilot (page 212 in 06 manual) is the ONLY system that will adjust volume level. It works off of noise level, so if your noise level has a large DB change you will possibly notice the volume change. Possible yours is overly sensitive and not working as designed. You can of course turn it off if you do not like the way it works.

The AudioPilot system is supposed to increase just that part of the audio spectrum that is affected by the ambient noise rather than total volume. I certainly can't explain, it but this link can.

Thanks,
I do not hear much difference in my driving situation.

I was an audiophile for over 25 years, not a real Bose fan.

Thanks for the site.
