Question OnStar renewal...any deals???

Being one of the early purchasers of an RL, I now find my initial one year period of the OnStar expiring soon.

When I recently renewed by XM radio and NavTraffic I learned from Acurazine of the WINBAck promotion.

Does anyone know if OnStar is offering any deals on renewal? It seems unless you know about a particular offer the idots who answer the phone have no clue or can't offer you a special deal unless you know what to ask for.

I have used onstar a couple times when there have been accidents to have them call the police. It is easy when on the highway because they know yoru exact location and I don't have to look for mile markers or other exits.

What else is onstar good for besides from having them call the police? I just purchased a 2005 RL from the dealer for a great price, but I have no idea what is onstar good for.

If Ur car is stolen, they'll find it.

OnStar is good for an insurance discount (sometimes).

The phone system works better than most regular cell phones....etc....

True, but if my car is stolen I would rather have it gone than be found again - by then who knows whats been done to it.

The phone is indeed far superior to the HFL, IMO at least. If you have a verizon family plan, adding the onstar to that for $10 a month is a damn good deal. I had it for a couple months and took it off. I will add it again once verizon allows onstar and the corporate discount to be applied at the same time (they said the 1st of the year they can do this)

Please explain the association of Verizon and Onstar.

Malibu flyer, I did a search but couldn't find anything on "winback" promotion. Please elaborate. Thanks.
BTW, I just had my 1 yr RL anniversary also, and chose not to renew Onstar.

Ofcourse!

The problem is that it is, by no means Ur choice...... & chances are, they will find it, they usually do!

It's the insurance company's decision ... don't be fooled thinking it's Urs.

Yes, it is up to the insurance company and they have 30 days to find it. In detroit if your car is stolen the police will give you a police report and don't even look for it and the insurance companies end up paying out at the end of the 30 days. Cars in the suberbs (where I live), if stolen, end up in a chop shop in detroit. So, no, the chance of them finding a stolen car here is slim.

Granted, I hope my car is never stolen. It would just be a royal PITA for it to be stolen.

Does anyone know if there are any promotions similar to the XM zwinback promo for ONSTAR renewal. My renewal is for $199/year and my wife "likes the security of having it available".

Please don't ask why I'm interested in renewing ONSTAR cause I'm not but the above line explains it all.

Thanks
