AcuraLink "Data Connection" screen keeps popping up!!!!
Hey All - New to this forum.
Have a problem. Have an AT&T (former Cingular) i607 Samsung Blackjack that I've paired with my RL for voice calls, and have been using it for over a year with no problems. Recently, however, I got the Blackjack replaced by AT&T due to an antennae recall, and since pairing the latest phone with HFL, I keep getting a request screen popping up asking me if I want to attempt a data connecion now or later. If I pick now, the connection always fails, whether I'm in HFL mode or not. If I pick later, that seems to just delay the prompt until the next time the Bluetooth connection is discovered. This is driving me nuts! I've deleted the phone from HFL and started over 3 times, and have deleted the HFL profile from my Blackjack as well - to no avail. It did not happen on my first Blackjack (same model, maybe different, updated Bluetooth stack?). I remember getting prompted once, and after it failed, it never came up again.
I see on the HFL mini-site that the i607 is listed as NOT being able to connect to HFL, which is no big deal to me. I JUST WANT THE SCREEN TO STOP POPPING UP!!!
Anyone have any words of wisdom?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I had the same problem when I switched phones... I think it has to do with if you try and establish the connection on the first time or cancel out... I believe I found one other post that said it will eventually go away... it did.. it quits asking but for me it took about 5-7 days of it asking every time I started the car. I had to switch the phone out again and this time it only asked me once I think and I said cancel and it didn't ask me again but it was the same phone model so that may have affected how many times it asked. Every time you unpair and re-pair however I think it resets the counter so unfortunately you may have to live with it asking for about a week.
Tried to edit the message but couldn't but one other thing... I suggest you hit the cancel button rather than the "Try again later" or the "Setup now" button... as those will continue to fail and you "might" get prompted indefinately if you don't say cancel. Not sure but for me hitting cancel for 5-7 days finally got rid of it.

Thanks for the tip - I'm going to give that a shot. If this works, that's really disappointing that something like this is so poorly done, dont' you think? You shouldn't have to just wear down the software until it "goes away". Oh well - out of sight, out of mind.
We'll see if it works.
If anyone else has any wisdom, I'd love to hear it!

Yes, it was annoying... I had the problem when I switched phones and I had to replace that phone with another of the same model a few weeks later. When I paired that phone I got the popup again, but this time rather than trying to connect, the first time I got the popup I said cancel and I don't think I got the message again. Don't know if it was because it was the same model or if that prevents it from asking again. I remember on the one before that I had tried to connect and failed, and then told it ask me later so maybe that is why it kept asking me. You could try deleting and re-pairing it one more time and this time hit cancel on the first popup.
