I believe Osram is sold by Sylvania, they would be proprietary to Sylvania. Damn... At 74 a bulb I would just stick to my original recommendation of CBI for 110 a pair from TRS

Coz the retrofit source website sells them under 'Osram'. No mention of sylvania.

It's the CBI I'm looking at, and if they are a brand of sylvania, then i could maybe find them for a lower price...

But its confusing im not sure this osram chick sounds like a whore.

There's been a lot of cases of fakes being sold on Amazon.

Be wary sir.

I get mine from the UK I dont remember the web site at the moment, and yes I checked Osram website and they are legit dealer for UK region. I bought a pair for my TL previously and knowing its legit so I got lucky when they offer free shipping to the US, BTW their site always (coupon 20% off always on) pricing under $99.

I forgot this thread.

I went with Morimoto 5500 from the retrofit source. Quick shipping, nicely wrapped, and excellent customer service.

Installing them was tricky, ended up removing the bumper and unscrewing the headlights, and I replaced both. I also polished the headlights.

Looks great! Thank you!

How's this for High Beam:

https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/sylvani.../6000190045653

TRS has these:

I had recently installed morimoto 5500 for low beams.

Any recommendations if i need to match the high beams or it doesn't matter? It seems all high beams are halogen? Low beam: D2S and High beam: 9005.

BTW, the sylvania's up there are more expensive than the Osrams.
Thanks!

I bought these high beams:

Won't be installing them for another 2 weeks. Has anyone tried them or knows they suck?

I honestly wouldn’t overthink high beams since you’re not really using it I’d go with a quality brand like Phillips, Osram or Sylvania and have peace of mind.

So the Philips lie It's yellow.

Seriously, when you have to remove the bumber, undo the light screws, and replace bulbs, and eventually pick up the car and find your high beam is still yellow...

You basically say: Fuck Philips.

The line "Xenon Look" should've tipped me off, but its Philips, come on....

Made in Germany too...

Ok, so, for High beams, i'm assuming this means I can go 60W since they are rarely used and reflector bowl won't heat up. And when in DRL, they are lower in intensity?

Sound logic or even high beams better remain 35 W too?

I'm considering those LEDs...

Are you thinking LED, HID, Halogen? DRL functionality won't work properly with the first two because they can't "run lower"; they won't run at all without a relay harness. They need 12V to activate the driver or ballast respectively. If you're talking 60W halogen then go for it..

No LEDs. Many users on amazon reported led working in DRL, others no. JBird here https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-a...-beams-975959/ yesterday said they work fine on his RL.

I currently have philips 60W the ultra, 4000k, and they are yellow. (see previous posts)

I know I'm late, but of all of the white halogen bulbs I've tried, these are by far the best, and look enough like OEM HID's for me!

Thanks! But I decided to no longer buy Philips. They lie. Customer service is quite deceptive too. If you notice my previous post, they display the crystal vision ultra range as quite white. While, once installed, its quite yellow. My stock were still working. I wasted money on them.

I've liked their products personally, but I did find my old Crystal Visions yellow-ish.

I am currently running Sylvania Silverstar Ultras, they're OK, but not great. And not truly white.

How are the ZXE's? They now makes a ZXE Gold, I don't know what that's about. Thought we were trying to get away from that gold color, lol.

I hear PIAA's are great, but pricey!

Oh I just put ZXE up there to get feedback. Didn't get it.

That brand you mention seems great. The extreme white would be the option
Amazon Amazon
. They're like 60 bucks.

The philips up there also preach 4000k. they r yellow. those are less yellow as per reviews.

Is this possible? 2 HID bulbs and 2 ballasts for 70 bucks?

https://www.headlightexperts.com/cat...it/category/2/

Seems too cheap or is this a good deal?

IDK. They are unnamed or generic. So they may be alright for the $$. I used to get Kensun and loved them. Not the new kits, they're OK. The ones on eBay, not Amazon. Amazon Kensun kits suck.

Just installed a set of the Morimoto 35w 5500k hid bulbs in my 4g TL. My driver side bulb went out and I needed a replacement but didn’t want to pay over $100 for some new bulbs. I’m hoping I made a good choice. I turned them on after Installation and one of the lights had a blue hue to it and the other was perfect. I ran the lights for a few minutes and it started to brighten and became less blue. I will report back after running them today for a longer time.

yup bulbs take a while to settle into their colors. Morimotos are solid choices for the money.

Morimoto are junk. Lifetime will be between 9-14 months tops. Waste of money.
