Fog Lights and High Beams

Has anyone swapped the OEM on these?

The fogg lights are usually better it seems it cold weather coz yellow goes thru fog better than white or blue, but the high beams? They are halogen, and the philips ones claiming to be white, are not, they are quite yellow.

Did anyone manage a good halogen alternative that is really white?
Anyone tried LED? Mechanic says they burnout fast.

TIA

Since the high beams are also used as DRLs, I don't think LED will work.

The "fog lights" are useless in fog, IMO. They are aimed low and to the sides. I just use them as auxiliary lights.

I am trying to find halogens that are white, or any other non led option. I don';t like how the high beam's yellow. This thread is pointing to sulvania's, but reviews are mixed. https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...estion-790209/

I think they are there to show the side of the road, like the divider, or the yellow line. The fog lights on your car they don't point to the side? Why you find them useless?

At one point a couple of years ago, VLEDs made a LED HB3 lamp that would work as a DRL. There was another made by Cree but those are not available any more. VLEDs was supposedly coming back out with an HB3 for the KB1 / 2 but I don't know if they ever did. There's a whole thread on this subject in General Discussion somewhere.

I have been running these LED DRL lights for about a year now with no problems.

@jbird2212 Thanks! I may get these for the Fogs.

Do the 9005 work as DRL? it's the law here, and they seem not to from the questions to seller.

Remember btw our ballasts are 35W. On these it is mentioned in the title they are 60W, and in the details 76 watts.

The price is surely attractive, as Morimoto is 120$ but they are 23W, and work as DRL. The color on your picture is excellent. My philips halogen are yellowish.

The 9005 do work as DRL. The picture with the single inner light is the vehicle running with DRL on only and the other picture shows the vehicle with normal low beams with high beams on together. I do not show a DRL light error nor have any issues with it being a 60w LED. Only problem I ran into when installing them was plugging them in reverse and not turning on but that was as simple as plugging it in the other way. Hope this helps

I've only had my LED's in for a week so I can't comment on longevity, but the BEAMTech LED's I got from Amazon worked well for fogs and DRL/Hi beam. Only issue is that without a resistor, the 9005 LED's I bought give the dash error for DRL fault, but they're still fully functional.

Seems JBird above got no faults on dash with his.

Hey it still beats TRS at 120usd+ for those. But the TRS has a 20 bucks unit to avoid flicker on LED DRL, they post it as an add on option when you choose the high beams in LED option for your vehicle (there's only one LED option). It may do the trick for your dash light if you install it. You can try that
