I’m new to Acura’s and I bought my 2007 RL for 2400 bucks a couple months ago. These cars are so under valued it’s crazy.
My nav screen has always looked like the attached picture, black and white horizontal lines. The radio still functions fine through aux.
Yesterday I went to Pic a part and got a replacement screen and swapped it in, but the screen looks the exact same. Should I go get the nav unit out of the junkyard too? I haven’t found anybody else with the same issue.
Just to be clear it does have a backup camera, which obviously doesn’t function, and the screen brightness buttons don’t do anything either.

Thanks for your help!
You can try the nav unit from the salvage yard; however, check the glove box of the car to see if it contains the owners manual.
Sometimes you'll find a code that needs to be entered to have the system function.
If that is not reasonable, search the inter webs for 'repair services' for the navi unit itself (part # on link below), you also may be able to pick up a functioning navi unit for small $$'s on ebay? Navigation System - 2007 Acura RL 4 Door RL KA 5AT
Good luck!

Thanks for the input!
I do luckily have the code in my owner’s manual, and like I said the radio functions fine, the screen just doesn’t operate.
Somebody in a TL forum said there is a possible way to diy the repair, so I’ll explore that further.
I think I’m leaning toward the salvage yard unit as it is very cheap there luckily, and the car is in good shape.
