Nokia 6255/6256
For those of you who were looking for the Nokia 6255 for verizon, some people are selling it on ebay (the verizon version). It is going to be the nokia 6256 and if you search on ebay for '6256i' and then sort the results by 'price: highest first'

It is now available at radio shack and best buy:

Oooh, sweetness! I read somewhere else that ratshack was going to have them before verizon stores. Not sure how that could possibly make sense but still
The current problem is that Verizon thinks I haven't returned my previous phone yet. Doh! Trying to track it down.

Hmm, I stopped by BB yesterday and they didn't have it yet. Bummer about the battery/signal strength. Where I work now signal strength kinda varies so it would be nice to have. Not a deal breaker though.

Lack of signal strength and batt meter is normal for nokia. With the GSM side they never had it work. Great phone though. The e815 and this have their ups and downs mainly:
E815:
much better screen quality (bigger and better resolution)
better camera
full bluetooth implmentation
cheap build quality
lack of analog
6256
build quality is excellent
ive always liked nokia software - even though on this phone it seems more primitive after i had been using the e815 for so long
analog is a plus to some people
smaller screen is a down for me
camera i really dont care about - but matters to some people

Ok, got the phone yesterday. So far so good. I have to disagree with the build quality though. The outside LCD is not straight behind the window. It's off by only a few degrees but still. If you're going to buy this phone, have them turn it on and take a close look at it.
At first I thought call transfer doesn't work but it does work fine with HFL. Important feature for me.
Some features I like:
- you can program several calling cards that you can use to dial numbers in your address book
- OBEX and other BT profiles appear functional. I paired it with my ppc and was able to transfer photos back/forth. Haven't tried an address book sync yet since my PC doesn't have BT.
Not so good:
- only shows 2 menu items at a time with lots of empty space. This is so silly that I'm hopeful there's a way to change that.
- power button on the outside. Not sure how that will work out yet.
