Newbie Intro 06RL
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and just picked up an 06 RL. It was delivered yesterday to my friend's house, since I'm outa town in Korea on a business trip. I'll return Thursday and get to see the car for the first time.
I'm taking a chance by buying a car sight-unseen...hope it works out. Already getting concerned since it only came with one key fob (I downloaded the manual and it mentions two).
Should I order a fob now or is there a difference between #1 and #2 fobs?
Thanks all

Congrats on the new purchase.
I might be wrong, but i think the key fobs remember what seat settings the car was set at.
For instance, fob 1 may have a driver thats short thats adjusted the seat differently than driver 2 (Fob2). So when fob 1 unlocks it, it goes back into driver 1's positions.
i know the 03 TL did it, so i hope i'm not wrong on the RL

Thanks. I'm just curious whether I need to specify what the fob I currently have is linked to or whether they are the same except for programming.
I'm beginning to suspect that there's a conspiracy on these fobs. I bought another car a few years ago (used) that also came with one remote...so I had to shell out serious $$$ for a second remote at the dealer...

Welcome to the forums.
The programming is different for #1 and #2 keyfobs.
Since you don't know which one came with the car, you will need to find out the number on the back and order the other one, since you need both #1 and #2 to remember the settings for two different people.

Anyone know where I can get a good deal on a fob? I called the honda place where I bought the car and they said used cars only come with one fob (I guess the other one mysteriously dissolves?) And they want $500 to get one for me...

I got two (#1 and #2) that were in better shape than the one that came with my car, on ebay for $120. Now I have two #1s and one #2, (my car didnt come with the #2). I'm paranoid about not having an extra FOB so I HAD to get the extras.
Just need to get them programed at the dealer (I believe its $70 - 100). Still cheaper than a new one at the dealer.

Thanks. I checked ebay and saw "remotesupermarket" selling fobs for all kinds, including the RL. Do you recall if this is the seller that you used? Just want to get a reliable seller and make a quick buy. I'm burnt out with too much drama with buying the car from the dealer -- don't want more drama with buying the fob.
