New RL Owner! Need some Help!

Can anyone tell me how to remove the radio on a 2005 RL. I removed the 4 screws that were on the front of the radio, but I could not get it to pull out. Appears that it may be secured from behind. Any insight you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks.

Very carefully!!! Seriously, I have no idea, but with the security system, etc. I would say it is more complicated then in the old days. I imagine you have to take off some trim pieces, etc. Good luck.

Yes, do a search also. I thought there was a post that said there were two 8mm bolts on the bottom which are kind of hard to get to. Make sure you have magnetic pickup also.

I have to ask, why would you even want to take out the radio? It sounds crazy to me.

Only reason I know would be to connect something like a hardwire iPod/aux input or that nav2tv adapter. Just a guess.

Though I didn't think that it took pulling the radio out all the way to get to the port necessary to plug in an iPod port.

Even so....given my experience with even having my dealer install the iPod Musiclink, I'd say professional, responsible help is needed for this due to the electronics in that area (my AC went out as they accidentally unplugged the controls!).
