SUCCESS!! Backfire, your pictures really did the trick. When I took a closer look, I finally noticed that there was another piece of trim between the cupholder and center console that needs to come out first. Once that came out, the cupholder popped right out. I managed to find the missing screw along with one of the metal clips that holds the cupholder in place. The other clip is MIA but the trim pieces hold the cupholder in place tightly enough.
One last question about the install. If you leave the ipod plugged in and shut off the car, does the ipod eventually shut off too? I checked mine after 10 minutes and noticed the ipod displayed charged on the screen. I am thinking it is still supplying power to the ipod and may lead to draining the battery eventually.

 

I don't remember where, but I think in this forum I read that it will stay on charge for 30 minutes and then shut off. I could be wrong alzhimer... If you want to find that gray clip run a magnet down in the console. tell me. you bought the neo... does it look exactly like the USA SPEC? Thanks

 

I just looked it up in the instruction manual it says it will shut off after non use for 1 hour. I believe this allows it to fully charge. If you want to find the gray clip that is missing try running a magnet down in the console or magnitize a screw driver and try it. Can you tell me is your system a neo... If so does it look just like the USA spec except sticker Thank you

You are right, it was off when i went into the car this morning. It sounds great with the ipod, I am really happy with the results. I haven't used my ipod ever since I sold my BMW (had the BMW/ipod interface for it) for the RL and I'm glad I've found a use for my ipod again!

 

Who would have instruction for the install of the Neo on a '05 RL. I am having an intersting time trying to get it installed
