NavTraffic problems again - has been unavailable for over two weeks. SiriusXM has been troubleshooting and have come to conclusion it is a hardware issue. When I initally start the car I can choose the NavTraffic Icon from the icon choice menu but no traffice flow/incidences show up. After driving for a few minutes the NavTraffic icon choice becomes grayed out and am not able to choose it. Dealer thinks it is still a XM probelm even before they diagnosed it but will take a look at it. It seems to me that since the traffic icon gets grayed out and not able to choose then it is a hardware issue. Anyone else experience icon gettin grayed out?

 

Is the traffic zone displayed in the zoom scale when you change scale?

I would tend to agree with Dealer, but hopefully they can diagnose

 

Yes, the traffic zone is displayed in the zoom bar. I am dumbfounded why the traffic icon choice gets grayed out on the icon choice menu (push in big knob and choose Show Icons) a few minutes after car is tuned on as if it is not an option.

 

I had some traffic display problems several months ago. I did not check the icon in the menu as I usually just look for the traffic zone in the scale. The scale would show for about 15 minutes, but no traffic flow displayed. Then traffic zone would go away. This occurred for about 3 or 4 days and then started working correctly again. I've always attributed to XM issues

 

Spoke with XM again, tried many attempts at troubleshooting and still no NavTraffic. They reaffirmed that my account is up-to-date and that signal sent included NavTraffic and Weather info. Once again after a few minutes the NavTraffic Icon on the 'Show Icons' menu was grayed out. I am definitely thinking I have a hardware issue.

 

I went through something similar on my '06. After lots of calls (and hold times) XM decided to convert my subscription to a trial so I wasn't paying while things weren't working, and told me to have the dealer troubleshoot the radio. But once the package converted to the trial, NAV traffic returned. During the trial period, NAV went away briefly, they sent a refresh and it came back. When the trial period ended, they converted my subscription back to normal and NAV traffic has been retained. I think in the end they messed up whatever the authorizations were at their end, and that the radio was fine. Very frustrating experience overall, given the time I spent calling and on hold, and dealing with automotons who really don't have much technical or troubleshooting abilities. Plus, it's annoying to have to be in the car but not on bluetooth when you call.

Maybe you can get a conversion to the trial subscription while the problem is being diagnosed.

Tried your suggestion - still no NavTraf or NavWeather. I still think it is a hardware issue. XM suggested that dealer do a hard reboot - whatever that requires. My appt is Monday @11:30.

 

Was a hardware issue. Took two hours to diagnose what I had already done with XM for the past three weeks. Will take back on the 14th to get fixed and hopefully check this off.

 

XM module to be replaced. Will get RL back tomorrow. I have a new TL as a loaner and I am quite impressed with this car. May try to convince wife to trade her '08 TSX Nav/6MT for a new TL. I like the acceleration it offers.
