So I was messing with the setup options and deleted the Navi ECU memory. The system rebooted and asked me for a PIN. Odd, since I did not have a PIN. Tried every PIN combination and after 10 or so tries, the Navi shut down. The screen is black. When I turn the car off and back on, the system boots, shows the PIN screen for a fraction of a second, then goes black. Looks like some sort of security lockout.

I guess its a trip to the dealer - anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

 

as for the pin number, you can call any dealer and they will give you the number. When the car is on, I would eject the disc, reinsert and i think the process would reboot.

 

Thanks for the tip. I found a link to a page that suggested I look in the glove compartment, and sure enough the serial number and default PIN were in a sticker right there. Apparently the security lockout lasts about an hour. Tried it again and it would at least prompt me for a PIN now. I entered the default PIN - and I am back in business!!!!

Now, if could only get the Tips and Guide Acuralink messages to restart....

 

did you have to disconnect the battery for a hour or just let the car sit for a hour before it reset?

 

The screen is locked, and and dimmed and it will not allow me to enter the code. Had anybody have the same situation?
