Greetings folks,

Recently the battery died on my 2006 RL and as a result the navigation unit has locked. I am the second owner of this vehicle and do not have the original manual. I tried calling a dealership to see about getting the code from my VIN and they informed me that they need to pull the nav unit to get the serial.

I had a go at searching for the answer, but most all the information I find doesn't seem to apply to the 2ndG RL. I thought The radio or NAVI has stopped working - the radio security code was a very informative page, but did not seem to apply to the 06' tech pkg.

If anyone knows if it is possible to get the serial# for the nav unit through any means other than the anti-theft card or pulling the unit, I could easily get the unlock code from owners.acura.com.

I am going to answer my own question, this is how I found the serial.

Hold down CANCEL+MAP/GUIDE+MENU for 5 seconds and in the following diagnostic screen open "unit check" and select "Navi ECU". The nav unit serial is listed there.
