Navigation Screen

A couple weeks ago I was riding in a 2013 TSX and noticed the navigation screen looked a lot better. I was wondering are any of the newer screens interchangeable with the KB1? Does anyone know or has anyone tried? Does it make sense at all or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

Hahaha screw you! I know what that popcorn isht means lol. So what is it? Better disc? Is the resolution the same? Ours looks lame compared. Calm down and put out the flame throwers.

bahahaha... is to damn early for all your "theories"

I think it has A LOT to do with the screen itself, I haven't really looked into the "video out" signal but if its something manageable like Composite or RGB then you could in theory put a better screen in.

Ya I have a feeling our screen's are crap. The newer cars look so much better. I haven't seen anyone switch theirs out so I'll forget about it.

compare a cell phone from 2001 to one now... its all in the screen.

I'm pretty sure that there is no "logic" in the screen, so if you run a pin out its possible to replace it with something better.

I'll look into this at a later point. Let me finish my other stuff first. What you say makes perfect sense.

If we have the pin out I don't see it being to difficult. The issues that I would think you'll run into is mounting it, but really that's more of a skill question than can it be done or not. It would be pretty cool if there was a way we could update the screen quality.

mounting is pretty easy actually, that unit is one piece including the black surrounds and there is plenty of room for a thinner LED

OEM monitor KB1/KB2 has a resolution of 480x234.
For example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HDMI-VGA-2AV-Control-board-8inch-ZJ080NA-08A-1024-600-Lcd-panel-Touch-Screen-/181108491202?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2ae843c2 But they're not quite simple and make sense only in the case of extending the functionality of the factory system (CarPC, CarPlay, etc.)
