hey fellow acuraziners!

I have a 05 RL and brought the new v4.92 navigation disc and tried to put it in and all it does is flicker the acura navigation screen and a black screen. It works fine when I put back the v4.13 disc back in. I spent $150 on this new navi disc and want to use it!

I tried looking thru the threads and over at acuralengend forums website as well. i have only found some confusing information and any clarification will be very helpful.

It seems like I need to update 4.13 to 4.3x and then to 4.64 and then 4.7x or 4.8x and then i can goto my 4.92. that will be 3 more discs i have to buy to update to this bad boy! can anyone tell me if theres a shortcut or i can go from 4.13 to like 4.8 if possible then 4.92 or something like that. and what exactly people mean when they say you need a ""second disc"".. totally confused!

where did you buy the 4.92 disk?
to go from 4.13 to 4.92 you need 2 disks. One to update software and then the 4.92 data disk

 

I'm no professor at this but I can tell you I went from 4.13 to 4.55 then to 4.73 and now I'm running 4.92. But to give you a quick and the cheapiest solution, I'd try updating to a disc greater than 4.31. Maybe off ebay. There is a software update disc. I think I got mine with my 4.73 disc, but that was brand new. Because I went to 4.55 I didn't need to use it.
