Hello guys,

I have a friend with a 2005 RL who has a weird problem.

After inserting a very scratched up 4.62 navi DVD (upgrading from 4.13), his diagnostic menu now automatically comes up whenever starting the car and he has to manually exit from it. I tried putting the old 4.13 disk back, but the same problem occurs. It ONLY started after putting in the 4.62, so I know it's the 4.62 that caused it.

He tried resetting the ECU by pulling the battery, but that didn't help. Anyone know what's going on?

this is a common occurence and there is defnitely a fix for it. I remember i had to use some key combination to make it go away forever.

OK, I found the fix!

you can repair it by going into diagnostic mode, then holding down map button for 5 seconds, then choosing "complete" and the bug goes away permanently.
