Nav Traffic

Have had issues the last 2 days with Nav traffic. Not able to reset nor resend refresh signal. XM just admitted to me that Acuras are having problem with receiving the signal for Nav Traffic. The regular radio signal comes in fine though. Anyone else with this issue?

So you are still paying for NavTraffic? I never had any problem in the 5 years that I subscribed except that the data is mainly provided by government workers (state transit authorities, police etc) and when have you ever known them to do anything "real-time". By the time it shows up on my screen I may as well have listened to yesterdays traffic report on the radio.

Yes, I am paying. My 2010 has had the receiver replaced once already because of this issue.

Actually the data comes from a number of different sources including "probes" and sensors along the highways that are real time in reporting. I believe the problem is in the upstream aggregation of the data by navtraffic and the communication with XM.

Many of the services like traffic on google maps gets data from the same sources and their traffic is much more real-time accurate

I tend to agree with you but what is really a deal breaker is that online free maps are better than the discs that we have to pay for, the free traffic information gathered from online services are better than the Navtraffic that we have to pay for. If you want an example of the biggest rip-off you should pay for Weather, it is minimalist at best but it's silly money.
"Free" downloadable information, such as the new Audi, is the way to go. I say free but the data rates will cost a fortune unless you are in an unlimited plan.

After 6 days without NavTraffic XM finally fixed the glich on their end. It affected some GMC, Acur, Honda, MB, Audio and BMW owners. They (XM) gracefully/generously (Ha!) gave me a $5 credit for lost service.
