not memorizing the interface feedback and guidance volume settings
this it the original stereo that was in it
i did the small goat sacrificing and dancing around the car about 3 times already and still resets every time the radio is off
how the fk does it just reset half of the settings tgis is getting ridiculous.
i honestly cant wait to sell this constant headache of a car
sorry for the rl owners but im not impressed with the way its designed at all
overall it was a car with could have great potential but its full if honda roadblocks they trying to be like bmw.

 

Stupid question: Are you sure you didn't forget to put any of the wires you cut back to stock?

double checked everything again. and no changes

every time i get in the car and set it up and it resets i tried going through the steps to memorize it bit it didnt work

for 2 days my steering wheel controls didnt work i unplug stereo and plug it back in they work

sometimes it would memorize half of the settings other time none


this was happening when i got the car. for few weeks it wouldnt memorize settings then it did

sometimes it doesnt detect the key and says keyfob not detected
has brand new batteries in keyfob and works across the parking lot when i lock it


is there some kind of common issue with the keyless entry on 2005 that cause this behavior?

 

This might sounds stupid but it it possible there is an order in which it all needs to be plugged back? These cars are known for being ridiculous like this lol

 

which part of the system holds the settings memory? anyone knows?

i plugged and unplugged it many times before and settings were saved

is there a way to reset the whole entertainment system all at once?

I'm getting power ground and accessory
all wires are good not pinched or broken

which module is responsible for keeping the memory anyway?

 

also strange that when I programmed the extra remote that I just got both of them are identified as driver 2
even though one says driver 1 and other says driver2

 

I unfortunately don't know where the memory is in the system, but I can appreciate your Driver 1/Driver 2 struggle. Every time I have both fobs in the car, it acts stupid and never knows which one it wants to default to. I would logically think that if both are in the car it should default to Driver 1, but whatever lol

 

yea its strange.
I reprogrammed them twice and both times it show them as driver 2 and driver 2 lol

I can think of anything that would make it not memorize the settings
because it memorize only half of the settings
the screen brightness is memorized
presets and EQ is memorized

but the actual voice and button feedback and the annoying voice that speaks when you press buttons is what I'm trying to get rid of

it only talks when I drive but not when I'm stopped
I read through the service manual but it doesn't mention anything about the unit having memory loss for some reason

 

seems like the nav unit is in charge of sending those annoying voices lol
maybe went bad or something. or I poked a wrong wire while testing for top display and damaged the communication module or something

 

Did you ever try the system check when you hit MAP/info/GUIDE

 

yep I reset it also and no change
remembers everything except voice feedback and menu and map colors
also some nav menus are missing.
I cant set home address
and heading up option also resets every time

 

i was reading through the service bulletins and its acting as if its not linked with the remote
but the display shows driver 2

the home address button is grayed out
settings are reset menu customizations are reset

does acura have a tech support line with techs i can talk to and see what they say without forking out 100s of dollars at the dealership for aimless troubleshooting?

 

that's what the 100 dollar fee is for...

 

I know the techs have access to a line where they talk with the manufacturer directly and they provide them with ideas. But I'm guessing you'd have to get real friendly with a tech or someone at the dealer for them to do that for you free of charge...

 

wasnt there a number in the bulletins somewhere for people who are having issues with thier nav system?

its hard to tell what parts is broken could be canbus could be nav unit in the trunk
it shows driver 2 but doesnt show options for driver like setting home address etc
so im guessing i shorted a wire accidentally possibly damaged the canbus interface or nav unit or the keyless entry or something

 

Off the top of my head I don't remember seeing a TSB on the nav, but it's been a minute since I've looked at that list anyways....

 

well this is weird

changed transmission solenoids today unplugged the battery did it plenty of times since and it had no effect on memory

today i didnt click unlock just got in the car and start driving

surprisingly the personal settings menu wasnt greyed out
the home address was acessible and actually memorized it
the screen settings and voice settings are memorized now

but as soon as i link the remote and it shows driver 2 all the settings are gone. and reset every time
i tried the learning steps to memorize the settings plenty of times and still no luck
i tried to add a second key (driver1)
and it shows driver2
both keys show driver2 for some reason
it gives error when i try to pair the keyfobs saying the keyfob learn failed.
but both keyfobs work and both show driver2 for some reason
i use autel 708 shop scanner
