iDevice integration to NON-XM Navi units

Hi, as the title states, I'm looking for a way to integrate my iphone to the RL's nav system. I'm new 05RL owner, upgrade from my 03 TLS. Is there a good and effective solution for canadian RLs to play and control ipod music and perhaps video too ? Any helping lines will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

You are going to have to use a blue tooth device (info here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=integration) or FM modulator.

Ain't there no empty port behind the NAV unit where I could plug THIS ? FM modulator is no option for me and I doubt bluetooth device could use all the potential of the Bose system.

What about the media bridge device or the Acura Music Link. I would think the Music Link would be the best option, but I don't know if it needs XM support. I don't believe it does.

Media Bridge? And for the bluetooth quality comment, if you are using your iDevice to play music, you have already killed your quality, so don't sweat it.

The Media Bridge page says that all 2005 models are supported:
http://diceelectronics.com/mediabridge-for-acura.html

This says that you can either use the external CD changer connection or the XM connection. Only XM will support text message displays on the screen. I am sure you can find the same unit for cheaper than the $300 on this page.

I want to say Psheu did a write-up on his install with thorough instructions. However, I cannot find the thread. Maybe try sending him a PM.

So in another words, there IS a un-used external CD changer port behind the unit ? If, so then this is the next best thing.

I'm not talking DVD-A quality, I know that. But a properly done kit wired through iphone dock to ext. CD changer port will sound 100 times better than bluetooth. Most of my mp3 are encoded atleast at 256 KB/s.

After digging some more, I see that PA15-HON2 and HON3 could work with the external CD changer port. Is there any difference between Hon2 and Hon3?
Mediabridge does the same thing except its twice the price of the usaspec units.

I have yet to see an audio and video integration all in one unit. There is a new member who just posted about one of the Hons I think. Otherwise, navtool is the most common video integration device for $250.
