It has been done before, either with an RL, but certainly with a TL.

Here is what I came up with using the following expression typed into google.
You can vary tl or rl and the search terms that occur after acurazine.com. I have bolded these two variable areas.

site://tl.acurazine.com backup camera Dominic nav2go converter

Its a piece of cake im sure. There have been plenty of TL's like already said but its not a tough deal to do. I just ordered my NavTool Module for the video and will be ordering the Pie Audio module asap as well. Ill be doing mine specifically to watch DVD's on those long trips. if you just want the backup cam audio obviously not necessary.

Navtool is a sponsor on this forum so please contact him for the info on the module and you can get a back up cam on ebay or you can actually source it from Navtool also i believe. The video module they sell it also a plug and play scenario to make it bonehead proof.

Good luck.

I think navtool with a camera would be th easiest install if ur doing it yourself. If oem is your thing then go with that.

I myself am going to be installing a navtool with ebay camera on my 1st gen RL. For audio I will be using a JL cleansweep for audio input of my dvd player, but the again I am changing all my speakers and amps.

Quoted $1k

I was just quoted $1k from my Acura dealer to install the OEM Acura back-up camera system.

I would go $500, but not a grand just for that feature.

especially knowing that if you have a 2005 the oem will not work anyway

i have a navtool connected and a rear view camera, not a silly license plate camera but one that is of good quality. Cost around $150 on Ebay. Works great. Avoid the cheap Ebay back up cameras going for $25-$40. They are horrible in quality and the image has lines all over it. Went through two of them and then did a paypal dispute to get a full refund. Actually the OEM camera will work with the navtool ,just need to splice the lines to make it connect.

It is a video interface module. One input is activated by a external wire connected to a 12v source (reverse light). This automatically switches the video input from the external camera (not included) once the vehicle is place in reverse (the wire senses the 12v).
The other input is a aux video input which can be used for a dvd, etc.

As I selling my RL , when I remove mine I will post up the color inputs on the wire harness as the instructions supplied is for the TL which is not the same.
