htc hero (sprint)

just got a new htc hero from sprint and it paired fine with my 07 RL.. one thing I noticed is if I make a call via the handset it doesn't automatically pick up on the bluetooth. My instinct did. I have to say "transfer" and then it transfers. I looked through the bt settings on the hero and couldn't see any setting to control this functionality..

I have the same issue with my Hero and '08 MDX. However, incoming calls auto-connect no problem. I even connected the Hero to my wife's RX 330 and had absolutely no issues. Something is wrong with the HFL system. Today's Sunday, so I'll call the dealer tomorrow.

Any update on this? I have an '04 TL and a '07 RDX. Both paired to the Hero with no problem, but calls will not automatically transfer to the HFL.

I have an HTC Touch and '05 RL .. If I make a call using the handset, I have to say "transfer" for it to go to car. Incoming calls go right to car. I thought this was normal.

I'll have to check this out.

GCook.....Perhaps you saw my thread from yesterday, but I too recently got a Sprint Hero....Pairing works fine, outgoing calls work fine, but I can't receive incoming calls.....Was there anything quirky about your syncing of the phone...was there some parameter on the Hero you found that I'm missing...? the Acura HFL folks I'm talking too seem to think that maybe the phone just doesn't work with the 05 RL...and it's too new for them to really have any experience with it, hence, if it's not on the list of phones they know are supported, they blow it off....but yours works, right...?

That is the normal behavior for the HFL when initiating calls from the handset. Some phones may automatically transfer the call over, but the default behavior is to have to use the "transfer" command. None of my phones (4 Motorolas, 1 HTC, and a Palm Treo Pro built by HTC) have transferred the call automatically in either a 2005 RL or a 2006 RL.

I am having the same problem. I have an '04TL and '07RDX. The TL pairs and works fine with incoming calls. The RDX pairs fine but does not receive incoming calls. This weekend I plan on messing around with the RDX to see if I can figure it out.

Thanks.....The only way I can get it to pair with my 05 RL is to initiate the pairing from the phone...which sometimes works, other times the car yells at me and says "You can't initiate pairing from the phone"....if I try to do it the right way it just times out. The only time I've been able to receive a call was when the stereo was "off" when the call came in.....even if I turn the stereo off after the call comes in, it turns itself back on when I accept the call. I love the phone, so I hope it can be resolved.

Also, check on the internet about the pervasive problem with the default SMS app....it causes the phone to always be in awake mode and drains the battery.

Later.
