How do you remove keyless access remote reminder message?

How do you remove the keyless access remote reminder message from the system when you leave the vehicle with the ignition on and you take the keyless access remote with you? This question was answered in this forum in the past, but I have forgotten how to do this. Please help! The constant reminder on the screen is so obnoxious. Also, does anyone know how to replay the initial learning messages that initiallly are available when you first buy the car that disappear after the first 60 days or so?

I believe there was a TSB that fixed that. Mine doesn't do it.

I believe that I have had all of the updates, but recently I ran my battery down and had to bring the car back on line with a jump off and new input of my radio code. Would you happen to remember the post in the past in which you could punch 3 buttons in at a time and bring up the root menu in which you can remove error messages?

I believe I posted the instructions sometime after June, 2005. The dealer's salesman gave me instructions. I saw your post but didn't respond immediately because I never was able to resolve in my own mind whether doing that on my car stopped the 90 days of messages from coming in...so I wasn't going to compound any possible problems by reposting. As I recall, there was some speculation that the dealer might have to "re-register" the car...in any event, my messages immediately stopped...some said because I'd had them all anyway...but the manual said definitely that they were to continue for 90 days.

If you can't find a post...there was more than mine as I recall, post again, and I'll help you look this evening. I also saved the note I made at that time in my "'05RL briefcase" in the trunk.

Thank you, I appreciate any input you have. I remember a post where someone said how to remove messages by going into some menu after pushing 3 buttons at the same time. I will look for your post.

Well, I can't find my post, but did manage to locate some rather cryptic notes I made in my Onstar brochure when my sales person called with the instructions. I'll post these, but don't recommend that you do this without consulting your dealer first...didn't you say that you have a good dealer in Huntsville?

The 3 buttons to press at once are map-guide/cancel/menu. This takes you to a diagnostic screen. Go to xm-hip, then xm-hip (ECU), then data reset, say "yes" and return out of the menus.

I think one of the TSB's took care of that annoying message...and I believe that I still get the audible warning when I close the door if I leave the car running and carrying the remote, but don't have a permanent reminder of it. The reason I'm not sure about what happens is because the message was so annoying before the TSB, that the RL properly "trained" me not to leave the car with the engine running.

Thanks so much. Your advice worked. I was able to delete the message. I really appreciate your help.
