How to add an Auxiliary Jack to 2006 RL?
I'm looking to add an auxiliary jack to my RL but I have no idea where to start.
What's the safest way to add one without voiding the warranty or damaging the stock navigation system? I keep hearing about USA SPEC but does installing that void my warranty?

You may want to do a search. Installing the USA Spec is fairly straightforward and should not ruin your warranty. If you are concerned about your warranty, you can buy the Acura MusicLink, but that is an unmitigated piece of s**t so I'd avoid it at all costs.

There are a couple of solutions.
The old USA Spec solution PA15-HON2 is to hook into the head unit as an auxiliary disc changer. The USASpec uses the Disc button to toggle between the head unit disc changer and two aux outs, one is an iPod jack, and the other a 3.5 mm stereo jack for other audio devices, MP3, DVD player, etc. The nav screen shows EXTENSION. I have this one in my 06 because the newer unit did not yet exist. It works great. The sound is VASTLY superior to previous iPod FM transmitters I have used.
The newer USA Spec unit PA15-ACUx1 interfaces with the XM unit in the trunk. It retains XM1 but takes over XM2 to allow the iPod to display text on the Nav screen and to allow interaction, song and folder selection. You access it by toggling the XM button between XM1 and the USASpec unit.
There is no USB interface that I know of yet, that works.
The installation the USA Spec units can be done by you or any car stereo installer.
Use the Search function to find all the info on these. This thread comes to mind...look around page 4 or 5 for info on the newer unit.
