Honda Legend-Acura RL NAVI System
I have a Honda Legend KB1 2007, my car has the screen and the GPS but not the Navigation nor the bluetooth. And that's how I bought the car in 2007
If I buy the navigation unit and bluetooth + harnesses for Acura RL; is it possible to fix them in my Legend? and will the Acura Navi system read the middle east map (where I live).
If yes; what parts do I need to buy from Acura?

hi Carbon Legend
The trim level for the car tht was sold here has the GPS only. I.e. you can see a compass for the directions on the screen with the latitude and longitude dor your location.
but it does not have the Navi map.

The navi unit in the trunk is different. You need to buy the trunk DVD drive from a navi RL/Legend (eBay). There is a thread here by a member who successfully achieved what you want.

Exactly. What you describe is the same as the US market's Hawaii and Alaska models, and later US base models, which have GPS but no navi. Another owner got his hands on a base RL and successfully converted it.

Thanks guys for the valuable info.
But what else do I need to replace other than the DVD unit in the trunk?
can someone lead me to the a thread to web link that might help to buy the parts, please.

Bear with the OP. He doesn't figure it out at first, but by the end of page one, he gets it all ironed out.

Thanks a lot 007spy
But again and to make sure that I got him.
Because my Legend head unit has the botton "Map/Guide" where as the Hawaii model has the compass. And the tech guy from our dealership has noted that he's not sure wether I should replace the head unit because what he can see in the service manual is two models, the compass and the Navi model.
Now do you think that by changing the DVD unit in the trunk with a part from the Acura RL Tech package trim would work? Or I should buy the head unit as well?
And because I live in Qatar, would it work if I buy the map from Garmin?
Because I couldn't source alphine maps for the GCC countries or the Middle East.

You should not need the head unit, just the DVD drive.
As for the CD, that is new territory here. Are there other Hondas on the road with GPS? I would find out what CDs they have.
