I recently got a 4.81 map disc off of eBay and after researching on this site, I found out that my 2005 RL nav system needs to updated to 1.29 software before I could use the disc. It sounded like IanVS was able to help out a number of members to get this update and I'm just wondering if someone could help me out as well.

I've been a lurking member for a long time so I haven't had enough posts to send/receive IMs yet. My email is thumotchut@hotmail.com.

I moved a few months ago and just now got my server back up and running. I sent you an email, ewgf, with directions how to download and use the firmware. Let me know if/how it works out for you.

I'm in the same situation. Just bought a 2005 RL without a disc and need the update disc to run the map disc v4.31C that I got on ebay. Can I get a copy of this 1.29.00 firmware update disc?

Hi everyone, i'm new to the site but I too need a copy of the 1.29 firmware update. i wonder why we cant just go on the Acura support page and download the firmware update. it seem like it very hard to get the update.

 

If you're using the original 2005 maps and do the firmware update, you're no longer able to use them. So I imagine that they don't want to risk having angry customers who don't do their research and break their navigation systems. Or the cynical answer is they want you to buy the new maps and/or take the car in to the dealer. Who knows. I think it's silly, which is why I made the image and am willing to share it.

 

IanVS, can you please email me with this link as well? I just bought the 2016 map update and it won't work until I update the software. Thanks so much!!
