DVD Audio
DVD Audio
Hi, I have just bought a 2007 RL and have a question about the DVD-A.
I understand DVD-A is a new and different format compared to conventional music CD's.
Is it possible to load mp3 tracks on a DVD and play it in the sound system. I created a DVD using Roxio Creator Plus which came w/ my new Dell laptop, but the car's DVD player did not read it (no error message, just load .. read... eject). What software have you successfully used, and what caveats/tips do you have when making a music DVD? Many thanks.

DVD-Audio is not a new format. In fact it is an old outdated format. It can on the sence a while back with SACD and because nobody could settle on a format they both went away. There are a few DVD's out there and you can find used ones on eBay if you'd like to listen to them. In my opinion they do sound better than CD's as they are recorded to take advantage of the different channels (5.1).
While I have heard about people recording their own DVD's to listen to in their car, I do not know what they used or what format the music was recorded....
