Dialing with hands free, HELP

With a 05 RL, is there way to dial from the phone book via voice? The only way I can do it is by saying numbers. Like saying, "Dial, 1234567" then saying Dial again. Is there a way to be able to say like "Dad" or something if the phone number is in my address book and have it dial that number listed in the address book? If so how do you do that, I haven't figured it out yet. Thanks

Yes. It's all in the owner's manual.

Page 289, 2006 owner's manual:

Setting up the Phonebook
The HFL phonebook can store up
to 50 names with their associated
numbers. These can be any types
of numbers. For example, you can
store a phone number and use it to
make a call, or you can store an
account number and use it during
a call to a menu-driven phone
system.

To add a name, do this:
1. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Phonebook.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘Phonebook
options are store, edit, delete, and
list.’’

2. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Store.’’ The
HFL response is, ‘‘What name
would you like to store?’’

3. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say the name you
would like to store. For example,
say ‘‘Eric’’ or say ‘‘account number.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘What is the
number for Eric,’’ or ‘‘What is the
number for account number?’’

4. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say the number.
For example, say ‘‘123 456 7891.’’
The HFL response is ‘‘123 456
7891.’’

5. Press and release the Talk button.
After the beep, say ‘‘Enter.’’ The
HFL response is ‘‘Eric (or account
number) has been stored.
Returning to the main menu.’’

Just to be clear, the HFL has its own address book separate from your phone. You cannot dial from your phone's address book. However, you can originate call from your phone using phone address book, then give the command "Transfer" in HFL and HFL will take over call.

you might also want to make sure that your key fob is link to your car first... i think different profiles are stored in each key fob...

If each key FOB is linked, then yes they have separate settings and as long each phone is linked with the vehicle.

Also, make sure that you use "phone book" as the owners manual states. If you say "address book" the system tries, but gets confused.
