Dead Nav
Dead Nav
I recently purchased a 2006 rl with 110000km, The car was sitting for close to a year, the battery was dead so I boosted it and the nav screen came on and asked for a code witch I did not have at the time. Now the screen in blank, no radio, nav. or climate controls. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is your Nav screen completely dead or is there any text asking for input? Secondly, Alpine have a fixed price on fixing the DVD in the trunk approx $150 US.
You will need the codes - take VIN to Acura and they can retreive.

Reading the OP I am not sure that the NAVI is dead. It reads to me that it is locked, likely from not entering the NAVI code after the RL was 'revived' from it's slumber.
Try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes. That would cause the RL to 'reboot' the electronics. After restarting, the NAVI should again sequest the codes. If you enter them, you should have had a master reboot.

Tampa i hate for you to reply the this question again but it's pretty urgent. can you post an exact link on where i could learn how to remove the disk drive from the trunk, so I can send it to Alpine. thanx
