Question DC area NAVTRAFFIC

For those that live in the DC metro area, since there is constant contruction going on at the Wilson Bridge, does NAVTRAFFIC show an incident there all the time? I have had my car for one month now and I have never seen any traffic incidents displayed. I do not get any traffic flow info either. Granted I am usually 50 miles away, but shouldn't I be able to see that info from St. Marys county? Just wondering if I have a broken unit or not. Thanks in advance!

I had the same issue. Just called XM (1-800-XM-RADIO). (It took 3 separate phone calls to get someone who actually understood the problem and how to resolve it...) They have to set it up. It isn't automatically set up when they activate your radio. It works fine now, and I can see all traffic incidents and traffic speeds. (Once it's set up, just tell your RL to display traffic incidents or display traffic speeds.)

Allstar, that is exactly what happened. I called and am receiving NAVTRAFFIC now
Only issue is, I was under the impression that it was free for the first year and lumped into free XM service. The service rep at XM said there is a $3.99 per month charge. The salesman never told me it wasn't free for the first year, but then again, I never asked.
Thanks again.

It IS supposed to be free for the first year. Sounds like the dealership didn't do the original activation correctly - only got the XM and not the NavTraffic. You shouldn't be paying anything in the first year.

That's what I thought. The dealership didn't have XM activated when I took initial delivery, I had to call XM directly myself. But after more research on this great forum, I had an inkling that it should be free.
I call Acura Customer Care today and they said they will look into it for me and take care of it. I hope it gets resolved. Thanks all.

There are a lot of gaps in terms of speed coverage in the DC metro area, the major one being I-395 from the beltway to 14th Street Bridge.
