Hey guys I just purchased an 06 RL and I'm still trying to get used to all of the functions. My question is, sorry if its a dumb one but how do I turn on my DRL. Ive looked in the manual but it says follow the instructions on the column on the left, well there is no instructions. I keep my lights on auto so I would think that it would come on automatically but the DRL off symbol is always on.

 

I didn't think you could turn them off.

 

Ok if your car is in parked and the E-brake is on the DRL will turn off. When you take the E-brake off they turn on automatically... i didn't know they turn off either. but if yours are off means something is wrong with the settings who knows.


but mine do turn off when i have it in park and e-brake is on.

 

Agreed. "DRL Off" means your parking brake is on. (It's by your left foot.)

 

that would be my guess too, unless something has damage the harness.
Or someone tried a mod to disable them intentionally.

 

It's like the refridgerator light - how do you know if it goes out when you close the door!

 

Climb inside.

 

Push the switch that gets pushed when the door is closed or get a jacket and Park the car close to a wall, and look for the lights on the wall. I'm pretty sure they turn off when either the parking brake is on, or any of the head/tail lights are turned on.
