bose amplifier interface?

has anyone used an interface for bose system from another model on 05-09 RL?
I'm thinking about a tablet using metra/scosche stereo harness to connect to factory bose amp through a preamp

its the blue plug I would assume same as other models with bose system?

Unfortunately with such a low production number and not many people experimenting with a car that has such complex electronics, it's going to be hard to find anyone on the boards who has tinkered with the audio system. Your best bet is to PM user Carbon Legend and ask him directly. He did my headlight retrofit, he's super knowledgeable about the RL audio system and he's super friendly. That would be to your best bet, since he's the only person I know of who has done extensive audio work on the 2G RL.

The Bose system is not really unique. You can intercept the signals before or after just like any other car. If you are going to change anything in the audio system, you should just bypass the Bose amp. It will cause you more headache than help.

The biggest issue is how the RL audio system, climate control, and nav integrate into the display. Second biggest issue is that the head unit contains stereo and nav built into a single piece. It's not a modular setup like lower end cars.

hopefully keeping the heater controls

or using a heater control unit from another honda that has a built in screen

i belive the actual audio signal to amp is analog but all the controls are digital since i think the actual dsp is built into the amp
so theres really no way to interface it
acura did this on purpose
the pretry much cut any possible options
they even made the dash slightly smaller than din size
