Hello RL owners out there,

I have taken delivery a 2012 KB2 Rl w/tech in May this year. It is indeed a great vehicle despite poor sales in the past years. Since I was the first owner and the car was literally brand-new, only 828 miles on delivery, everything works fine except the Bluetooth indicator in the upper display which it would not light on even I could successfully pair it with my iphone5s. I have had other Acura vehicles before and I am very familiar with Acura's Navigation and Hands Free Link system. Therefore, I am sure I have followed proper steps when pairing the phone.

I used to have a 2010 TSX and it has the Bluetooth indicator and worked fine. But not on the RL even the user's manual says it should light up. On page 356 of the manual, it clearly stated "The Bluetooth indicator will also appear on the upper display when a phone is linked." I was able to link it with my phone, make calls, and receive calls without any issue. But the indicator will not light up.

I have brought this issue to my dealership, Esserman Acura in Miami, FL. They could not figure out the reason after they replaced both the Bluetooth unit and upper display screen. The result is the same. My service rep determined that Acura made a mistake on the manual and he will report this to Acura.

Can anyone out there confirm this? Has anyone have this issue before? This has been the greatest mystery in my RL experience. Thank you.

 

I don't remember ever seeing that on my KB1. Hopefully someone will confirm because I no longer have it to confirm.
