Question Bluetooth and battery drain?

My wife and I both have identical RAZR's (well, one of them is pink and it ain't mine ). My phone is paired to both my TL and my RL, and hers is not paired to any car, since her car doesn't have BT support.

She keeps her phone on almost all the time and talks about 20 times as much as I do, yet her phone's battery life is twice what mine is.

So I'm wondering - does BT cause more battery drain, by having to hook up with and maintain a connection with the car? Anyone know?

Yep. BT uses your battery up somewhat faster. It's not just the pairing with the car -- if you activate BT on your phone it's going to constantly be looking for BT connections and identifying itself. So, that extra radio activity drains battery life.

The price of convenience.

Same thing here, I get about a day's use of my razr if I turn the bluetooth on.

Thanks for confirming. I charge mine about every 2-3 days, but I use it only intermittently in BT mode ... probably an average of 3-4 hours a day.
