Best way to update map on 2006 RL

I held off as long as possible but I need to update the map on a 2006 RL. Any tricks or suggestions rather then to pay 150$? Any input is appreciated!

You can usually find the previous year's disc on eBay at a significant discount. I bought the 2014 disc in June for $50.

Just make sure you are buying a real disc and not a copy.

And even if you can't/don't find one on eBay, you can usually find the OEM one from the Acura navigation update site for $99. Seems they run specials fairly often - annually?

Is that all I need to do? Buy say a 2014 or 2015 disc? I read somewhere you need another disc first to update then the new 14/15 map update. This is where I am lost....

I've never heard that there were two discs needed. When I updated my nav from 2008 to 2013, all I did was insert the new disc. It took about 10 mins to perform the updates and I was good to go. Nothing more, nothing less..........

Why bother? Waze and Google maps constantly update, show traffic, hazards, etc. Built-in car navigation will go the way of the dinosaur unless it can be tied to the Internet. I updated once a few years ago, will never do it again
