That does look f'ed up. Does it happen often or just once in a while?

 

All the time! I contacted NAVTEQ and am waiting for their response. I've tried everything I know to do, with no improvement. I certainly discourage anyone from purchasing the 2012 update until this is resolved.

I broke my original disk in my 05 RL. Got a used one it worked. Then tested my friends Nav disk. It showed Downloading on the screen and worked. Then got a New copy. Again downloading then this did not work. Went to the dealership they are clueless and claimed the tech would "reset" the system. Put back in the original disk and nothing. Then told me to order a brand new disk for $199. Even though I told them the problem started with the Brand new disk. How do I get them to do a Backrev? Cause I'm sure they don't know what that is, LoL!

 

What is the version of the new disc that you purchased? Is it newer or older than your friend's disc? What is the error message that shows on the screen?

I originally had 4.3 or 4.6 which broke. My friend had a 4.A2 or 4.B1? And I Tested someone's (original) disk of 4.92 that I was going to buy. It didn't work. Now the only Disk I have is 4.73. I even downloaded 4.A2 and 4.92 but don't know where to get the patch files as the threads I had read talking about the patch files are generally pretty old and users that had them on those threads aren't active any longer.
My 4.73 disk when inserted is stuck in a loop so I can't even access the diag. menu with it inserted. And when I go into the menu with it not inserted and then try to insert it says check disk. so I'm not having any success trying to downgrade back to this disk. I don't care about the age of the maps. I miss being able to use my bluetooth, voice command, I can't adjust the stereo settings or even set the clock. Heck it would be nice to be able to just see the maps on the screen even if they're out of date, LoL! I don't really need directions I know where I'm going better than google maps usually, LoL!
I just miss having the functionality of the system.

 

I forget the details, but if I remember correctly, the early RLs needed an additional disk to get everything to work.

 

Trying to update mine now. I am on 4.13b . If I am understanding correctly I need to either buy 4.31c dvd first or find map dvd that comes with a update disc ? Can anyone please confirm ?
