I have a 2005 Acura RL with a radio that no longer plays CDs. I have already installed the USA-SPEC adapter, but still considering to change the radio. Will a radio from 2006, 2007 or 2008 fit on a 2005? I looked up the part numbers for all 4 years and they are different.

39175-SJA-A01 2005
39175-SJA-A11 2006
39175-SJA-A12 2007 & 2008

 

I'm sure the differences are due to the different trim levels available through the years. 2006 was the first with no nav, and 2007+ have an aux input. I highly doubt the radios are not compatible, though.

 

Thanks for the help. I ended up finding a 2005 radio for $200 on ebay. Now I just need to figure out how to get the code.

 

Just get the serial number off the radio and call your dealer for the code.

 

Did everything work out with this swap? Any issues?
