I have an 05 RL that has the following navigation system

Database version - 20041119
Software version - 1.10.00

I have been waiting for the 4.56 release but am now starting to wonder if I should forget waiting and try to get an earlier model. I have looked at some on EBay but I thought they could not be used multiple times in multiple cars.

Any suggestions?

 

What version of the DVD is in the back of the car? That is more useful information. It should be a white disk, 4.xx.

4.5x has been released, and it is 4.62 that is the problematic one.

version 4.56 was first made in june,2006 and was released for sale through Alpine in October 2006....Then version 4.62 was released in late Sept 2007, but then shortly after recalled. most problems were with the 2005 cars....my 05 DVD nav unit that I had ran 4.56 flawlessly. I now have an 06 DVD nav unit and 4.62 runs nearly pefect. (slower load time) but has more info on (such as parks & almost all roads in my area are now verified)

 

I have a 2005, V4.62 loaded fine (after getting out of the in-line diagnostic screen). I have a later build 2005 model, perhaps the nav system was upgraded late in the production run.

I found one on ebay and it arrived today but it didn't come with directions. Is there anything I have to do besides change dvds?

 

Anyone know if the NAV disk from my new '08 MDX is compatible with my 06 RL? I think the disk says ver. 1.63.

 

I meant 4.63. That's what the MDX has. The Acura site shows 4.62 works, but doesn't mention 4.63

 

When I tried using the 4.63 disk it says DVD Disk Error - Incompatible DVD Disk. My current disk is 4.35

 

Actually it was backup copy. . . When I tried using the backup copy of my 4.63 disk in the RL it says DVD Disk Error - Incompatible DVD Disk. It appears you can't make a backup of these NAV disks (at least with Nero).

 

if it is a white disk v4.6x it should work.....
