Hi Gang:

I've got an '07 with 55k miles, and I'm having an unusual stereo issue. This first happened a couple of times back in January.

1. Turn on the ignition or start the car
2. Stereo beeps and then you hear the CD mechanism whirring for a few seconds
3. All stereo controls freeze or are locked-up. The steering wheel mounted controls are inactive also. The volume can be adjusted via the knob, but the stereo cannot be turned off by the knob. Almost all buttons for stereo control are non-responsive. I can eject CD's.
4. Sometimes the radio will start behaving normally after a shutdown/restart. It will _usually_ behave normally after I pull fuse #5 in the driver's footwell. However, if I wait a few hours before starting the car, I have to pull this fuse again to reset the stereo.
5. Compass(no NAV)/HVAC/Setup/HFL all work fine -- even when the stereo is misbehaving.

I've seen Heavy, et. al., drill "check the battery" into folks over the past couple of years. The battery was only showing 12.1 V after sitting for a couple of days, so I had the local Acura dealer replace it.

Stereo worked great for two weeks. Came out after work today, and it was locked-up again. Battery is voltage is on the money at 12.75 V.

HELP! This is driving me crazy. Any suggestions on what I should do next? The asst. svc mgr had never heard of this problem before. Plus, I've not found anything in my AZine or internet searches.
