Would you buy your RL again?

I am considering purchasing a 06' RL. 50k miles.

Given the chance knowing what you know now, would you buy your RL again?

Thanks!!

Yes... as long as the new car prices were the same as in 2005.

I have test driven the Lexus GS 450h and the ES 350. I was impressed with the GS, but the space and how rough it was, I didn't like it. Same with the ES.

I feel with the RL, you can definitely have fun with it. Definitely a driver oriented car. Loads of fun to drive and luxurious. I love it. Very practical too. I love the tiny little details in the car that makes it so great.

To sum up, I would buy it again.

Yes - and I came from a BMW too. It's a great car and I wonder why I didn't buy one sooner.

Fixed! At first read, I thought you meant buying your old RL back! It's another RL you're buying! I would buy another one too if the condition and price is right!

Yes. Most comfortable car I've ever owned or driven. Great stereo, great handling, still a joy to drive and look at!

I have a 2007 RL with 161,000 miles. It has been completely trouble free. Outside of routine maintenance, the only things that I have done was replaced the center console and both armrest due to wear. I am looking for a new ride. The only to makes that I would consider due to reliablity are Lexus and Acura. This week I test drove a Lexus GS350. Thought the ride was very similar. Deal breakers were terrible navigation system, small trunk (the opening is about a foot high, the drivers armrest which I use was slated down and my arm kept sliding off and the center console slides back and is impossible to use.

The LS 460 as my wife says is a old man's car. IMO the LS460 is not close comparing what you get for the extra cost.

As earlier mentioned, I after all these miles still love getting in my car and driving to wherever. I have decided on a 2009 white with tan interior as soon as I can find one.

Yes - I think that the new ones with the 3.7 + 6 speed and fully loaded are really impressive except that the Nav and audio should be the HDD system from the MDX.

If I had the money and the 2013 RL comes out like we think it will, 7speed, DI, hybrid SH-AWD, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Even after considering 1st year design bugs.

If the new RL (Legend) is built in Japan and was released there first then I may agree with you. But, I bought my RL new in 05 even after Japan had already had it for a while and it was still a bit buggy compared to later years.

Does anybody know if the 2013 RL is Japanese?

YES! I just sold my 2006 RL CMBS with 170k miles to a friend. I only sold it as my dad gave me a deal I could not refuse on his Florida low mile Lexus LS.

My RL had 4k miles when I purchased it in March 2008. Other than the driveshaft which was replaced at about 95k miles under the Acura CPO warranty, the car was almost completely trouble free. Best of all, it still looks, performs, and drives just as a brand new RL.

The SH-AWD in bad weather and many of the tech/luxury features of the RL are among the best of any luxury car out there..........and the RL is relatively cheap to maintain.

I would buy another RL without hesitation, new or pre-owned.

What do you mean by "is it Japanese"? Do you mean has it been released already in Japan? No. Will it still be built in Saitama, Saitama like every other Legend ever built? I can't imagine why it wouldn't be. As for the KB1 being launched in Japan first, it was only launched a couple of months earlier than the US RL.

I love my 05! I'd go for a 2012 if I could. I just returned one that the dealer loaned me for 4 days. I like the ability to downshift with the paddles while in drive! Heated and vented seats also. Great for here in Florida.

Hell ya! I love driving something somewhat unique, a car that does not scream "look at me!", something appreciated by those who know cars - or that just recognize quality once they get exosed to it for the first time, the responsiveness, the amazing cornering, the refied details, the kick ass stereo, and more. The car rides lower than I am used to, which is an advantage to many performance car lovers I realize, but has taken me some time to get comfortable with. I have trouble imagining it performing as well in snow as everybody insists it does only because of low clearance, but I have yet to read any complaints. I can fit 3 car seats in a pinch. Like the others, I love it every time I get in. The gas mileage is not great, and I burn even more since I'm always taking the loooooooonnnnng way home, but this the most critical comment I can come up with and for me it is a non issue. There are faster cars off the line, but I can't imagine anybody needing a faster car than the RL. You will love your 2006 and I hope you post a picture. Buy it. NOW.

The 06 RL I owned was nothing short of perfect, so the answer would be yes. I only sold it because I wanted something new, otherwise there was nothing wrong with it what so ever

Hell yes. Great road car, looks good, SH-AWD, big brakes and like 92 airbags or something.

I really dont think so......had a new GS400 back in 1999 and imo it was a better car. Dont get me wrong I couldnt drive the thing in 2" of snow with the factory tires but the GS had much more power, handled and stopped much better! Unforuntately my 06 RL has high miles (130K) so I dont know how much better it was when new....

I'd definitely get another one but I am nervous now that everyone says the '05's are the "dud" year.

No question about it. I've got a 2005 RL, obviously had some concerns about buying it in its first model year, but could not be happier. I used to change cars every three or four years out of boredom. I think the only thing that could make me get rid of it is if a) it's stolen; b) it's totaled; or c) Acura comes out with a fantastic replacement in 2013 (as rumor has it).

That car had a V8 with the same flywheel power, 2WD, and 300 less pounds. Do you really expect anything different?

I also hear people all the time above 100k mi that say their RL is as good as new, but that is under the circumstance that they maintain their parts (brakes, suspension, & fluids).

My 2006 has 89,000 miles and is the best car I've ever owned. I look forward to owning the next generation RL.

If I were you.....I would buy it immediately. I just bought my 06 RL about a month ago with 150,000 mile on it and I love it. I just had to catch up on the maintainence like timing belt, transmission fluid flush, etc. But it runs like a champ. Best car I've ever owned. You will not be disappointed. In other words.....YES!! I would buy my RL again.

Would i do it again? Yes!

I've got an early model 05 RL (ser# 543) which has been trouble free and a joy to drive and own. Even though initial reviews pegged the car as being bland and boring, it's muted elegant style and design has held up well over the years and still elicits admiring comments from my colleagues.

I plan are to purchase the 2013 model. However, style and appearance are important factors to me and if the 2013 model is plain ass ugly I will opt for a model from another manufacturer...

Note: Check out Autotrader - they have really nice ride in Chicagoland for 20,500 with only 48k miles CPO!!! It is 2007 RL you may like ... if I had not purchased mine I would get this in a heart-beat!!!
