I may be interested, depending on the final price. I am also deciding between this or an A-Spec suspension.

forget the a-spec suspension. get in on the Megan coilovers. $700 for height and damper adjustability ($50 more than the A-Spec). we need 4 more people to get in on the deal to make it happen.

Sorry. I appreciate what you are doing for the community. But I tend to prefer factory upgrades.

in that case, do the wood wheel. you'll see it everyday. feel it every day. (next mod for me)

I personally dont think that the A-Spec is worth it. Not if you're doing it for the drop anyway. It's a .75" drop. But you have to assume that after several years of having 4000lbs atop it, your original suspension is probably sitting a little lower (maybe .25") than when it was new. so you're paying $550-650 plus labor ($350ish, or if you prefer dealer, lol, maybe $700 for labor)... for a .5" drop (and maybe not even that).

If your suspension is worn out and needs replacing, then its definitely worth it at that point.

I don't care about the ride height. Actually I would prefer it stay the same. I have to go to a lot of jails (line of work) and they are usually not on very well kept roads. I have the stock 17 wheels for that reason too.

But with 100k+ miles on the original suspension, I need to change the shocks anyway. So I figured I might as well upgrade them. You make a good point about the wheel though. Mine is getting a little worn and it is something I'd see.

Hence the "you'll see it everyday", and the "it's something I'd see."

Test drive someone's car to get the feel of Aspec suspension. It's not for everyone but I would and did choose suspension over the steering wheel.

So let's see if the seller will at least beat the eBay price of $389 (shipped) by a few bucks if we can get to 10 buyers!

You wouldn't have a link to the installation instructions, would you?

Yup! And call me a chicken but it's scary for me to be that close to the airbag. I want my mechanic to do this one!

Here's a copy of Acura's tech doc on the wood wheel install...
http://www.socal28.com/rl/RL_05_WoodWheelInstall.pdf

It's really not that bad, I've done it several times as the 1st time I put back the steering wheel off a notch. Weird driving with an un-centered steering wheel. :p

Just don't rush the job and make sure all the connections and button placements are correctly transferred.

I sent him a PM earlier. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling. To be safe, I will call a dealer about a group buy as well.

Just talked to Tim at oemacuraparts.com. He was blown away by the $389 shipped price and said he couldn't match it. He did say he could do $399. It sounds like we have cheaper options, but if all else fails we have one more option. Personally, I like and trust Acura of Peoria over an eBay seller. We'll see though.

Also, L's TL PM'd me back and will post an update ASAP.

I did the same thing on my TLS. As long as you disconnect the battery and dont go banging on the air bag you will be safe. I've done the install in basically the dark (twilight). Its simple.

Sorry for the delay everyone. Havent been able to check the forums like I used to. As for the price, my guy said he couldn't move the price on the wheels any lower unless we had at least 20 people. Judging by how many RL members we have here and how many already have the wheel I doubt we'll get 20. He said anything under $400 is already a huge discount for the wheel. I tried to talk him down some more but he's been doing this a while and knows when a deal is a steal. Sorry I couldnt come through with better news guys. I will probably still go with my guy unless someone cheaper comes through. I trust him and his dealership (Park Acura) and anytime I buy parts from him they come in a day or two.

really not much sense in the group buy if it doesnt save anyone money. just call the dealer, or buy on ebay, for the same price and call it a day. (as opposed to sending money to someone else, waiting for them to collect money from people that say they will participate, then they don't... then if they do, then they have to place the order, then everyone waits...).

group buys are a headache for everyone involved, and if you're not saving money, why bother.

I saw a dealer selling these on eBay for $389

L's TL mentioned that he has been really busy lately. If you all want, I will call Acura of Peoria and just have him set up a coupon code for this buy. This way, no waiting on others and no having a middle man or headache. Problem solved. There were 9 of us interested, but I need to know who's still buying.

Haha! And then when it falls through, the collector has to refund the money within 3 days or risk being called a scammer and get slammed all morning before he logs in that day!

Ahhhhh, just kidding. I had to rub it in a little though.

all I'm saying, is that for the hassle of a group buy, and all the waiting involved, etc... I'd rather just pay the extra $20 or w/e and just buy it and have it 2-3 days later. ...just sayin'

I appreciate your opinion, but you've voiced it once before, which is also puzzling since you aren't purchasing a steering wheel. Allow me to reiterate: This is hassle-free for those involved. There will be a coupon code or phrase that allows each buyer to purchase from a reputable dealer for $395 to $399 shipped. We do not have or need a middle man, collector, or any other confusing stipulations. I don't understand where you think the hassle is. I'm sorry your group buy didn't pan out, but it doesn't mean this one won't.

Sorry I missed this thread again. If anyone wants to contact my guy at Park Acura, PM me and I will send you his contact info. He gave me the $395 +SHIPPING (USUALLY 3-11 BUCKS) when I was buying the wheel by myself. $395 shipped was with just 5 people. The guy tnobori1 suggested sounds good too.
