Windshield Wipers?
Windshield Wipers?
I noticed that the windshield wipers on the RL are not traditional blade-style wipers...how do they work? Can you see any benefits to this new style of wiper? Also, I've been wondering for awhile if the wiper on the passenger side is an eccentric wiper (i.e. any unique motion to its sweep?)
Thanks in advance!

Sooo...anyone found out about those wipers
? I've looked and looked for pictures from under the hood, and none are revealing enough to show where the wiper pivots would be. I'm actually wondering now if the pivots are "hidden".
My original question is if the RL's passenger side wiper arm has an eccentric motion to it (in other words, does it have two pivot points as opposed to one, creating a wider sweep while taking up less space)?

Spudmtn,
I just went to my garage to check.
The passenger side wiper does not appear to have double pivot points, so I don't believe it follows an eccentric path, but the arm is a strange shape. The wiper starts out parallel to the bottom of the screen, but after it passes the end of the larger driver side wiper, it sweeps upwards in an arc.

I know, I know...it's kinda strange...
Spudmtn,
Get a life ...dancing windscreen wipers ?????
Seriously, the wipe does look a bit funkier than normal because the passenger side wiper only wipes a small section of the screen, the large driver side wiper has a very wide sweep that starts at the center of the passenger windscreen and ends in the normal position near the driver A pillar. When I first saw it I though it was cool.
