Windshield Washer Adjustment

My washers are squirting pretty low (like the bottom 3 or 4 inches of the glass). Is there any trick to adjusting the spray other than using a small, thin screwdriver in the slot? I really don't feel like hiking over to the dealer if it's not necessary.

Thanks.

I haven't looked that closely to the washer nozzles on our RL, but I used to adjust the ones on our MDXs with a straightened paper clip. It's small enough to fit into the hole and you can use the other end to aim at a specific point on the windshield.

Just adjusted them...moved them so they hit the center of the windshield.

The nozzles are like little balls with a slot along the front of each. They are kind of stiff (which I guess is good so they don't move once adjusted) but a gentle push with a small screwdriver is all it takes. A little movement is all that's necessary.

You should have checked them at 55mph. There is a good chance, when you are up to speed the washer might hit too high.

Actually it's the other way around. Mine were fine when stationary, but too low at speed. Had dealer adjust them.

Right now I have them pretty much aimed at the center of the windshield. I'll try to get up to speed later and post how they work.

It's bug season and driving back from DC yesterday the washer was not getting it done. Will be attempting to adjust the washer jets this weekend. The above posts speak of moving the spray point. I'd like to enlarge the spray footprint. Anyone had experience with enlarging the spray footprint? Either a linear spray print where the wiper carries the fluid across the windshield in full spectrum fashion or a big gloopy blob type pattern. The present small spot pattern ain't getting it.

Anyone? Anyone?

Sounds like mine. I'll have to look at them and see if I can adjust them ebcause right now they are borderline useless at speed...specifically the driver's side

Washer Jets

I had mine adjusted at the dealer and he said that many RL owners complained about the factory settings, so now they (the dealer) adjusts them up towards the center of the windshield.

My dealer tired of my complaint, they added a third windshield spray right in the middle of the existing two spray.

Acura should change the spray to pump a mist and cover most of the windshield like the new 2007 MDX. This design works much better than the current RL, most of the fluid are wasted during high speed ride.

They should also make the washer fluid reservoir hold more than 1/2 a gallon of fluid, which is ridiculous...and then it dings like you're low on oil or something. No need for that behavior!

I miss my SAAB sometimes, it held a full two gallons. <3

Same problem here. First oil change I'll have the dealer adjust it.
