Will the RL SHAWD work like an MDX?

Buying a house up on the mountain.

I saw this test of SH-AWD where they compare an MDX to others:

Would the RL behave like that? I don't know how similar/dissimilar the systems are.

I know some cars such as VW and Subaru use the same nomenclature for their AWD systems yet different cars can have really totally different systems. That is the 4MOTION in a Golf can be totally different than 4MOTION in a Touraeg.

The RL was the first to receive this bad ass technology, as it/was the flagship.

My limited understanding is that the basic principle is the same, but there are detail differences in favor of the RL. However, these come into play mostly in aggressive dry-road cornering. Both will give you basically similar benefits.

Agree with Tony. The only fundamental difference between the two systems is the RL can variably speed up the rear wheels to 5% faster than the front while all of the other iterations of the system are set to 1.7%.

There was a thread on the topic not too long ago with lots of good info.

Edit: This one: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...itions-919045/

There was some dicking around for about the first half, but the good stuff comes at the end.

Legends have this option.
feels that it uses diff locks more harder when its on.
I havent found any solid info about this thou.
User manual says that it is on when you are driving front wheels pointing about straight ahead and speed is under 60 or 80 km/h.
